Can I drive a camper with a standard driver's license?

A

Yes. All vehicles are under 3.5 tons, so they can be driven with a regular, medium, or semi-regular driver's license.
An Automatic driver's license is also accepted.

Can Foreigners drive a camper?

A

Yes, you can rent if you fulfill one of the following conditions!

①Those who have a Japanese driver's license
②Those who have a U.S. military personal vehicle operator's permit + driver's license from U.S. + ID
③Those who have an International driver's license based on the Geneva Convention (1949) (within the validity period) + driver's license of their own country + passport
※ Driver's license and international driver's license must be issued in the same country.
④ Those who have a Foreign driver's license (limited to Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium,Monaco)+Official Japanese translation + Passport
※ Only translations issued by the embassy or consulate of the country of the foreign driver's license in Japan or the Japan Automobile Federation are valid.

How much are the fees?

A

The fee for a Hiace van (Type 1, 2, 4) is 29,700 yen (tax included) for 1 night 2 days.
The fee for a Jimny (Type 3), Jimny Sierra (Type 5), and Every (Type 6) is 23,100 yen (tax included) for 1 night 2 days.
Please refer to the fee schedule for details.

What are the standard equipment comes with the car?

A

The following are standard equipment.

Q

How many people can a camper accommodate?

A

There are a total of 6 types of vehicles available.
Types 1, 2, and 4 (Hi-ace) can accommodate up to 6 people.
Types 3, 5, and 6 are recommended for use by 2 persons.

①Type 1 Hi-Ace (Yellow)
●Seating capacity
6 passengers (3 in the front row, 3 in the second row)
●Sleeping capacity
2 adults and 1 child in the van
2 adults and 1 child in the rooftop tent
*Sleeping capacity is the maximum no. of people, so a sleeping tent (optional) is recommended for a comfortable stay.
*If sleeping capacity is exceeded, a rental tent may be offered.

②Type 2 Hi-Ace (mint, pet friendly)
●Seating capacity
6 passengers (3 in the front row, 3 in the second row)
*Mints do not have seat belts in the rear seats due to the structural registration of the vehicle.
The obligation to wear one is waived. If you wish to install a child seat, it will be in the front passenger seat. If you wish to install more than 2 child seats, Type 1 and Type 4 are recommended.
*Max. 5 passengers when wheelchair user is on board.
●Sleeping capacity
2 adults and 1 child in the van
2 adults and 1 child in the rooftop tent
*Sleeping capacity is the maximum no. of people, so a sleeping tent (optional) is recommended for a comfortable stay.
*If sleeping capacity is exceeded, a rental tent may be offered.

③Type 3 (Jimmy)
●Seating capacity:2 passengers
※Able to accommodate 4 passengers but the back seats need to be flatted in order to load camp gears.
●Sleeping capacity
1 adult in the van
1 adult and 1 child in the rooftop tent
*Sleeping capacity is the maximum no. of people, so a sleeping tent (optional) is recommended for a comfortable stay.
*If sleeping capacity is exceeded, a rental tent may be offered.

④Type 4 Hi-Ace (Blue)
●Seating capacity
6 passengers (3 in the front row, 3 in the second row)

⑤Type 5 (Jimmy Sierra)
*Roof tent and awning will be available from August.
As of July, offering with inflate mattress inside the car and tent.
●Seating capacity:2 passengers
※Able to accommodate 4 passengers but the back seats need to be flatted in order to load camp gears.
●Sleeping capacity
1 adult in the van
1 adult and 1 child in the rooftop tent

⑥Type 6 (Every)
*The interior is currently being remodeled! You can stay overnight in the car quickly and easily, and you can load bicycles, SUP boards, etc. on the roof carrier!
●Seating capacity: 2 people (2 people in the front row)
●Sleeping capacity -In the car: Max. 2 people (2 adults)

Do users need to make a reservation by renters?

A

In accordance with the rental agreement, reservations are accepted in the name of the renter.

Q

Are pets allowed in the van?

A

Pets are allowed only in the van type (Mint) at no additional charge.
There are some restrictions for pets. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for details.

Q

Is smoking allowed inside the van?

A

Smoking is prohibited in all van.
(If you wish to smoke (including electronic/heated cigarettes), please smoke outside the vehicle in a designated area.

Q

Does my child need a child seat?

A

All children under the age of 6 are legally required to use a seat belt or booster seat.
If you wish to use your own child safety seat, please inquire in advance or use one that is compatible with a two-point seatbelt.
We also offer rental child seats as an option.

Q

Do you offer free transportation?

A

Yes, we provide free pick-up service from Urasoe Maeda Station on the Yui Rail to the store.
Pick-up and drop-off times are between 9:30 and 17:00.
If you wish, please let us know by e-mail (rental@asoviva-works.com), official LINE, official WhatsApp,
official Instagram, or phone (098-894-5151) by business hours the day before your departure date.
*Please note that we are closed on Tuesdays.

If you would like us to pick you up at a hotel near Naha, please purchase a one-way pick-up ticket as an option.

Regarding Advance Payment at the Time of Reservation

A

We require full payment at the time of reservation. Please note that the payment method varies depending on the period between the reservation date and your desired departure date.

If your desired departure date is within 50 days :
Please make a credit card payment through our online system. We accept the following credit cards:
Visa, Mastercard, American Express
You can also use the following electronic payment services.

If your desired departure date is 50 days or more away :
We will issue an invoice. Please make the payment by the due date specified on the invoice.

Where can I rent or return a vehicle?

A

You can rent or return a campervan at the Asoviva Works store.

Check-in 10:00, Check-out by 18:00 the next day.
*If you have any requests, please fill out the reservation form.

Q

Is there a cancellation policy?

A

There is a cancellation fee depending on the cancellation period.
A cancellation fee will be charged from 2 weeks prior to the reservation date, but no cancellation fee will be charged before that date.

13-8 days prior to departure......... 20% of total amount
7-3 days prior to departure ......... 50% of total amount
2 days prior to departure date ......... 100% of the total amount

Cancellation made after 6:00 p.m. will be treated as cancellation for the following day.
*No cancellation fee will be charged if there is a weather warning for the day.

Q

Due to the strong wind, is it possible to cancel?

A

Free cancellation is available when wind speed is 15 m/s or higher according to the wind speed information from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT).

What time should I pick up my van?

A

You can pick up your van 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
Please note that it takes about 30 minutes for the rental procedure and explanation of the car.

Is it possible to extend the usage time?

A

Extension is possible subject to availability.

Q

Is it possible to drop off the car somewhere else?

A

No. Please return the vehicle only Asoviva Works.


Accident/Troubles

What should I do in the event of an accident or car trouble?

A

In case of an accident, the drive recorder will automatically contact the insurance company's call center.
Please be assured that the operator will give you instructions.

What kind of insurance coverage do you provide?

A

insurance is included in the basic rental fee. In addition to that, we offer optional insurance for customers to choose from.
